Ruth: Seductress or Noble Woman

For all the women in the house, anyone of you wants to follow the footsteps of Ruth? Ako ayoko! We used to make fun of our friends whom we think “navigated” their way into a lovelife and call it the Ruth-Boaz love story, ever heard of such? But reading the book of Ruth for a week changed my mind-radically!

First contrary to what I previously believed Boaz took noticed of Ruth first not vice-versa>> hint hint for the women!(Ruth 2:5). Next she is described to be hardworking (Ruth 2:7) and focused on her work(hint hint ulit for everyone).  Every time Boaz would complement her she is indeed very polite and humble-dare I say unassuming (Ruth 2:10). And though it may look like they have a whirlwind romance and that Ruth seems to have seduced him at chapter 3, guess what Boaz called her a woman of noble character and characterized her actions as an act of kindness (Ruth 3:10).

Grabe, way to go Ruth-bravo for all her commitment and devotion for Naohmi. But wait there’s more, her nobility and humility in the way she had reacted towards Boaz. In everything she has done-the people have commended her and in the end she even became the great, great ancestor of Jesus-what a privilege.

I want to be like Ruth and I hope you do too….
Let’s be committed and devoted to God despite of what we’ve gone thru and will go thru in the future;
Let’s be focused on our season-the work He has laid out for us to do; lets advance His Kingdom with joy and peace in our hearts
Let us not be “assuming” of the attention being given to us by our brothers and keep healthy relationships with them.
Let us be women of noble characters, women who fears the Lord and places all their hopes in Him.

One more thing, all throughout the story I see God’s invisible fingerprint all over-from the moment they met and the moment Obed (their child) was conceived. Indeed Ruth was a woman of noble character, she had God in her life and He gave her more that what she could ever hope for or imagine.

Women, 2000 years ago, long before your heart got broken and your soul got wounded-Jesus died to redeem you-heart, body, soul and spirit completely. You can stop wearing our yourselves finding your redemption in relationships, looking for Mr. Right or settling for Mr. Right now-you have been redeemed and God wants you to live a life that is full and complete. Let’s all all pursue Him and obey Him and accept all that He has in store for us because His will is good pleasing and perfect.

Exciting! Cmon now!
